Baseball Cancer Continues Streak in 2008

John Lackey will open the season on the disabled list after being diagnosed with a strained triceps in his pitching arm. Lackey will not participate in any baseball activities for the next three to four weeks and will have to be re-examined before he is cleared to begin a throwing program. Lackey has never missed a start in his professional career but is not likely to rejoin the Angels’ starting rotation until mid-May at the earliest.
That, ladies and gents, is the first of many likely entries into the Baseball Cancer 2008 ledger. In case you were wondering, yes, this does fuck me, since I drafted pitchers late this year.
